Lions’ Calvin Johnson still bothered by shoulder

Posted: November 1st, 2010 | Adam Rank | Tags: Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions, Jim Schwartz

Lions WR Calvin Johnson continues to amaze. The player known as “Megatron” has scored seven touchdowns in his last four games, and is doing it with a bum shoulder.

Lions coach Jim Schwartz told reporters Monday that Johnson’s injured shoulder is not doing well, and that Johnson had to pull himself out of a few plays against the Redskins in order to recover. That not only makes his three touchdown performance even more impressive, but also shows that there is no reason to panic for fantasy owners.

Sure, Johnson could take a serious shot to his shoulder, but that is the reality for every player. He is going to be a great fantasy option going forward, and Lions QB Matthew Stafford is an excellent pickup if he is available in your league. Although, maybe not this week, as the Jets pose a daunting matchup.
